JEAN-PHILIPPE BOUCICAUT : Photographer • Painter • Illustrator
Jean-Philippe Boucicaut was born in NYC, immersed in the art world; His mother a painter, his father an Emmy Award winning documentary filmmaker. Both of his grandfathers were photographers and his cousin was Basquiat. Having had the great fortune of witnessing committed and creative souls in their process since his infancy, his first impulses were to pick-up painting and drawing. This later lead him into the design studio of Donna Karan Menswear, at age 21. His responsibilities were labeled under ‘inspiration” and it was his duty to shoot street trends, hunt vintage stores, help cast shows and sketch. It was here that his life as working artist began. He has since been painting and photographing people, places and things full-time, mainly throughout New York, Los Angeles and London.
